I’m running for the Oakland City Council at Large seat to create Change For a Better Oakland. As important decisions about crime and public safety, jobs, economic development, and improvement of our schools loom on the horizon, we find ourselves at a critical juncture between vibrancy and stagnation.

I know we can make the smart choices for a better Oakland. I’ve seen everyday people make extraordinary contributions during my work on the Oakland Planning Commission, the AC Transit Board, The Oakland Free Legal Clinic and many other community institutions.

I am standing up for a better quality of life for our neighbors and children, ensuring that people are safe in their homes and businesses, that every neighborhood has basic services, that we develop new business in Oakland, and improve our schools and protect of all of our voices when it comes to the important decisions that affect our lives.I will work for change and a better Oakland. It is time to roll up our sleeves, work hard, try new ideas, tackle old problems, and grow Oakland into a beautiful and vibrant city.
